Thank you for fostering peace and justice.

Grant Writing help needed NOW!
We are in need of an organized person to take the lead on keeping our PJC Grant proposals organized and submitted.
PLEASE HELP!
Interested?  E-mail us at peacewb@verizon.net

Thanks in advance!
We, the Interfaith Resource Center for Peace and Justice, envision a community that respects the dignity of each of its members, a community that draws on our diverse cultural and religious heritage to promote peace, justice, and mutual understanding.

Mission Statement
To educate the public in peaceful ways of resolving conflict, to nurture dialogue among diverse groups, and to be a presence in the ongoing struggle for human rights in Northeast Pennsylvania, our nation, and our world.

The Interfaith Resource Center for Peace and Justice is a 501(c)(3) non-profit educational peace and justice organization founded in 1988.

The Peace and Justice Center maintains an office in downtown Wilkes-Barre, PA.

The office is open Monday through Thursday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Please visit us.

The Peace and Justice Center receives contributions from individuals and organizations and publishes a newsletter that reaches nearly 1,000 members.

The Center is a diverse community from many different faith traditions, and ethnic backgrounds.

We are united by a commitment to find nonviolent solutions to the challenges facing our society, and by the belief that the gifts of our different traditions will nourish our work and community.

In order to assure the continued growth of our Peace and Justice Center, we offer the opportunity to invest in our communities’ future: The Peace and Justice Center Endowment Fund (The Fund).

This capital fund, set apart from the Center’s general operating fund; it has the following major components:

  • The Fund is a permanent fund from which only income may be designed for use.
  • The income from The Fund will be used for program.

Donations to The Fund may be so designated.
The goal of the Fund is to provide a solid financial base upon which the good works of The Peace and Justice Center will continue in the benefit of future generations.

Please help the Peace and Justice Center by taking part in Boscov’s Friends Helping Friends
Tuesday, October 4, 2011

Friends Helping Friends is a day to enjoy great shopping, a super 25%* discount shopping pass, refreshments, register to win prizes and the chance for people to support their favorite non-profit organization.

Tickets to Friends Helping Friends will be available from Peace and Justice Volunteers.  We have the opportunity to sell $5 (suggested donation) discount shopping passes at the Wilkes-Barre store, so come out and support us.

100% of the ticket money (sold by us) will go to the good works of the Peace and Justice Center.

*Some exclusions apply.  See store for details.

There is no minimum required and we do not have to sell them all (but 100% of the donation goes to the Peace and Justice Center).

Please forward this notice to all.

Remember, the coupons do not have to be sold for the suggested $5 donation. This is just a suggested donation amount.

We can sell them for $1, $2, etc. or even $50 (some people are just happy to help the Peace and Justice Center).
They are good at the Wilkes-Barre store as well as the Scranton and Hazleton Boscov's store, so they can be sold to friends who live near these stores.
Peace and Justice Center volunteers will be at the Boscov's Wilkes-Barre store from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

Please help get the word out.
For more information, please call 823-9977, or E-mail: peacewb@verizon.net

Thanks in advance! (Looking forward to 100% participation from the Steering Committee!)
